We are looking for an Events Partnerships Executive to join our small and collaborative team in India.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has got a bachelor’s degree, fluent in English and Hindi, is a proactive team player with excellent coordination skills and a passion for delivering high-quality events and experiences.

As Events Partnerships Executive you will play a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering the Royal Society of Chemistry's engagement activities across India, South Asia and the Middle East. The role will involve frequent travel within India as well as occasional travel within South Asia and the Middle East to support the successful delivery of events and partner activities.

As our Events Partnerships Executive, you will be the central coordination point between the RSC and our external partners (eg: government authorities and Universities) and internal stakeholders, ensuring events are delivered smoothly, professionally and on time. You will bring organisation, energy and confidence to event delivery, helping to create positive stakeholder experiences while supporting the continuous improvement of our events programme. Through your work, you will help strengthen our impact, minimise delivery risks and provide valuable insights that inform future investment and engagement opportunities across the region.

We're looking for someone who thrives on keeping multiple projects moving forward, enjoys working with timelines and stakeholders, and has a keen eye for detail. You'll be highly organised and comfortable managing event plans, registrations, action trackers, budgets and logistics while ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of assigned events, including planning schedules, stakeholder briefings, venue and vendor coordination, delegate communications, event materials and on-site support.
  • Support internal event sponsors to clarify event objectives, audiences, success measures, budgets, risks and delivery requirements before activity begins.
  • Maintain accurate event documentation, including trackers, contact lists, registration data, supplier information, approvals, budget updates, feedback summaries and post-event reports.
  • Coordinate with vendors and agencies to secure practical, cost-effective delivery of venues, catering, travel, accommodation, audio-visual support, branding, merchandise and other event requirements.

 
Key requirements:

  • Fluent in Hindi and English
  • Degree level or equivalent practical experience: in events, operational, programme coordination, partnerships, communications, business administration or a relevant field.
  • Sector knowledge: understanding of the Indian higher education, research, scientific society, publishing or chemistry community landscape.
  • Event and programme coordination: experience or a strong interest to support in-person or hybrid events, workshops, large outreach activity or professional programmes from planning [incl shortlisting vendors] through to delivery and follow-up.
  • Project discipline: ability to maintain timelines, action trackers, registration data, supplier information, risk logs, approvals and post-event documentation accurately.
  • Operational detail: confident coordinating venues, travel, catering, audio-visual requirements, branding, materials, attendee communications and on-site arrangements.
  • Supplier and budget coordination: able to track costs, follow up purchase orders or invoices, liaise with vendors and support value-for-money decisions.
  • Relationship management: confident working with internal colleagues, academic partners, government bodies, speakers, agencies and vendors in a professional and responsive way.
  • Communication and judgement: strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce clear briefings, updates and summaries, escalate issues appropriately and stay calm under pressure.
  • Tools and ways of working: confident using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams, with the ability to learn event, registration or survey systems quickly.


At the Royal Society of Chemistry, we support flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate.

Although this role is contractually based at our Bangalore office, and therefore you will have the opportunity to work mostly from any other location in India, as agreed with your line manager. Applicants should be aware that there is an expectation that employees will attend our office once a quarter. Please be aware that in this role you are expected to travel across India at least once a month for events or meetings with our external partners. You will also be expected to travel occasionally within South Asia and the Middle East to support the successful delivery of events and partner activities.
